Tutor Time Activity 1 – Drawing Ahead
Have you ever put a piece of card on your head and attempted to draw a picture? No? Well, the time to do it is now! This game will create an abundance of smiles! In the below instruction video, we talk through this tutor time activity while using a paper plate. However, a piece of card will work fine.
You will need:
📍 1 piece of card per student
📍 1 pen per student
📍 A theme
Instructions:
📍 Step 1 – Instruct students to put their piece of card on their head
📍 Step 2 – Instruct everyone to draw a picture on to the card. You can pick what they draw. If it’s Easter, you could get them to draw an Easter egg. When Santa’s in town, you can get them to draw a Christmas tree
📍 Step 3 – Instruct everyone to write their name underneath their drawing
📍 Step 4 – Give them 1 minute and get them to draw!
📍 Step 5 – After 1 minute, ask everyone to remove the card and show to everyone around them
Energising benefits to this game:
⚡️ Everyone’s drawing will be funny, so no student will feel awkward about their lack of artistic ability
⚡️ Everyone will have a great laugh about each other’s drawings (great for student bonding)
⚡️ It challenges students brains in a unique way (great to energise them ahead of a school day!)
There you go. One of our form time ideas that’s head (pun intended) and shoulders above other activities! 😄
Tutor Time Activity 2 – Head, Shoulders, Knees, CUP!
Your students (and teachers!) will LOVE this game. They will remember it for years. It is wild and exhilarating! It creates a huge amount of excitement (and competition!).
Check out several teams playing this game 👇
You will need:
📍 Paper cups (1 per two students)
📍 To line up tables so students can be facing each other (like in the video)
Instructions:
📍 Instruct each student to face another student
📍 Tell students that you will be shouting out ‘head’, ‘shoulders’ and ‘knees’ and they have to follow the instruction
📍 Tell students that when you shout ‘cup’, they have to grab the cup. First person to grab it wins!
📍 Rotate students so they don’t continually face the same person
Energising benefits to this game:
⚡️ Students concentration levels will be on point when you’re shouting the instructions!
⚡️ Instructed well, this activity has huge potential to bond students through fun competition
Tutor Time Activity 3 – Numbers Jump
⛔ Watch Out! ⛔ this game will create bouts of wild laughter!
We’ve played this game hundreds of times in our Laughtercise Corporate Team Building Workshops and it’s one of the best team building games in the world! I mean, just look at the smiles it creates within a football team 👇
You will need:
📍Just the participants and a facilitator 😀
Facilitator Instructions:
📍Line up everyone up so they can be facing each other (like in the videos), it helps if you lay out chairs
📍When you say ‘jump’, everyone has to jump around and show two numbers on their hands
📍As quick as they can, they have to count the total on their hands AND their opponents hands
📍First person to say the correct number and go BANG! wins the round!
📍Move people around so that people keep playing against new opponents
📍Play the game until you have a clear winner, with the most amount of victories, and declare them champion!
